Respect the story. Respect the player. Respect the county.
These rules apply to everyone participating in Fox Ridge Roleplay. They are written to protect fair play, strong storytelling, and a healthy roleplay environment.
Remain in character during active roleplay. Out-of-character discussion should be kept separate from in-county interactions unless staff intervention is required.
Your character should reasonably value their own life and the lives of others. Do not treat serious threats, injuries, or dangerous situations as if there are no consequences.
Conflict should create story. Violence should have roleplay context and should not be used as a shortcut around meaningful interaction.
Harassment, targeted hostility, or behavior designed to ruin another player's experience is not allowed. Keep conflict inside the roleplay.
Play your character consistently with their established background, personality, abilities, and limitations.
Do not force actions, injuries, emotions, or outcomes onto another player without giving them a reasonable opportunity to react.
Roleplay involving unusually graphic, degrading, or highly sensitive scenarios should only continue when all involved players are comfortable with the scene.
Robbery, theft, and criminal activity should be used to create interaction and story, not simply to strip another player of everything they own.
Take only what reasonably fits the scene. Do not wipe a player's inventory or use robbery mechanics in a way that destroys their ability to continue roleplay.
Do not steal through glitches, desync, menu abuse, unconscious-state exploits, or any other mechanic that removes a player's fair chance to participate.
If your character has been tied, cuffed, hogtied, or otherwise physically restrained, you may not simply break yourself free. Escape must come from legitimate roleplay, an available game mechanic approved by the server, or outside assistance.
Hostage-taking must have a legitimate roleplay purpose. Hostages should be given meaningful interaction and should not be held for excessive periods without story progression.
Kidnapping is permitted when it supports active roleplay. Do not repeatedly target the same player without strong story justification.
Law enforcement members are expected to use their authority to create fair, professional, and engaging roleplay rather than to dominate scenes.
Force should match the threat and circumstances of the scene. Escalation should be roleplayed appropriately whenever possible.
Department command structures, policies, and operating procedures must be followed while serving in an official law-enforcement role.
Serious injuries should be treated as serious. Give Medical Services meaningful opportunity to assess, treat, transport, and continue the scene.
Do not intentionally interfere with active medical treatment without legitimate roleplay justification.
Combat Medic duties are specialized Medical Services operations and remain subject to Medical command, qualification requirements, and department procedures.
Do not immediately return to a major incident as if nothing happened. Follow the server's medical and death-roleplay procedures for the situation.
Do not use information from your previous incapacitation or death to immediately return and seek revenge when your character would not reasonably retain that information.
Use horses and wagons in a way that supports believable roleplay. Avoid reckless behavior that treats mounts only as disposable game mechanics.
Do not use horses, wagons, terrain, or physics bugs to gain unfair advantages or bypass intended gameplay.
Duplicating money, items, resources, livestock, or property through bugs or unintended mechanics is prohibited.
Player-owned businesses should support the county economy and create roleplay for other players. Business owners are expected to follow applicable county and server policies.
Property and real-estate activity must follow the server's approved systems and business structure. Ownership does not allow players to bypass county rules or staff policy.
Do not use information your character did not learn in roleplay, including information obtained from streams, Discord, friends, or outside communication.
Do not use game mechanics, unrealistic actions, or forced outcomes to gain an unfair roleplay advantage.
Knowingly using bugs, glitches, duplicated items, broken scripts, or unintended mechanics for personal advantage is prohibited.
If you discover a serious exploit or broken mechanic, stop using it and report it through the appropriate support process.
When Fox Ridge rules or roleplay references the newspaper, it means the Fox Ridge Discord server.
When Fox Ridge rules or roleplay references sending a prayer, it means opening a support ticket through the server's ticket system.
Use the proper support process for disputes, rule questions, or reports. Do not continue out-of-character arguments inside active roleplay.
Designated protected personnel have special protections while officially on duty. Their pockets, inventory, and money are locked and may not be searched for loot, pickpocketed, robbed, or have items or money removed.
Protected on-duty personnel may still be restrained, hogtied, kidnapped, or taken hostage when the scene supports legitimate roleplay.
Protected personnel may not be killed while their on-duty protection is active.
When protected personnel go off duty, these special protections no longer apply. They may then be searched, robbed, pickpocketed, or otherwise treated under the normal county rules.
